She was born July 5, 1926 in Fredericktown, a daughter of the late Fortunato “Nato” Zanolli Sr. and Anna Dalla Santa Zanolli.
Dorothy was a graduate of East Bethlehem High School and Penn Commercial. She worked as an accountant for the Chevrolet dealership in Fredericktown for 30 years.
Her first husband, Edwin N. Dickey Jr. is deceased. Her son, Edwin N. Dickey III passed away on April 19, 1979. Also deceased are two brothers, Stelvio “Steve” Zanolli and Lou Zanolli.
On May 23, 1987 she married Lewis D. Hughes, who survives.
She and Lewis resided in Jefferson for several years where she was a member of the Jefferson United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Jefferson Legion Auxiliary.
Dorothy enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting, and visiting with family and friends.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a brother, Fortunato “Pat” Zanolli Jr. (Dolores) of Masury, Ohio ; a step-daughter, Sandra Haney (Keith) of Fayetteville; 2 step-grandchildren, Lee Haney (Brandee) of Severna Park , Md., Craig Haney (Tiffany) Strongsville, OH; 3 step-greatgrandchildren, Campbell, Darson, and Brennan Haney; and several nieces and nephews.
