He was born January 6, 1948 in Waynesburg a son of Dora Lutes Black Vassallo of McClellandtown and the late Bruce Elton Black.
On October 10, 1974, he married Judy Rigel Black, who survives.
Barry was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the Navy, and was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3491 in Carmichaels.
He enjoyed riding motorcycles and watching NASCAR races.
Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are his children Dora Mae, James, and Joseph (Nancy), Debra (Michael), Thomas (Alicia), and Kimberly; 25 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five brothers, Bruce, Skip, Thomas, Jim, and Dana; and one sister, Pam.
Three children predeceased him.
