Arlette Rose Townsend

She was born December 18, 1931 in Cumberland Township, a daughter of the late Clarence McCann and Gladys Mildred Barnhart McCann. She was a graduate of Cumberland Township High School.

On June 26, 1954 she married James L. Townsend, who survives.

Mrs. Townsend worked as a seamstress for 37 years. She was employed by Greenway Manufacturing in Waynesburg and later by Joseph and Feiss Co. in Cleveland, Ohio.

She resided in the Cleveland area for several years and returned to Greene County in 1995.

Mrs. Townsend was a member of the Jefferson Baptist Church and was a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity.

Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, S. Renee Imhoff of Carmichaels; 4 grandchildren, Jason Imhoff, Jamie Imhoff (and fiancé, Joey Menhart), James Dorsch (Amanda), and Sean Dorsch; 2 great-grandchildren, Aidan Dorsch and Alexander Dorsch.

Deceased is a daughter, Arletta Jane Townsend Dorsch; a grandson, Scott Leslie Dorsch; 3 sisters, Roberta Jones, Johanna Kelly, and Myra Maslanka; 5 brothers, James McCann, John McCann, Melvin McCann, Raymond McCann, and an infant brother.

Friends will be received 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm Sunday in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson and from 10 am to 11 am, the hour of services on Monday, April 4, 2016 in the Jefferson Baptist Church, Pine St., Jefferson, with Rev.
