She was born June 8, 1924 in Carpentertown, a daughter of the late Ralph and Catherine Zolniercysk Janus.
Mrs. Virgili was a homemaker and had worked at the former Amalgamated Cotton Garment Industries, Waynesburg.
She was a member of St. Marcellus R.C. Church, Jefferson; the Christians Mothers of the church, worked fish fry’s and bingo’s at the church. Anna and Vito were part of the original founders of the Jefferson Senior Citizens Center and delivered meals on wheels.
On May 19, 1942 she married Vito Virgili, who died March 17, 2012.
Surviving are three children, Shirley Vowcheck and her husband Cedric of Washington, Vito Virgili Jr. and his wife Sue of Carmichaels, and Ronald Virgili and his wife Mary of Waynesburg; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; a sister, Dolores Journic and her husband Eugene of Streetsboro, OH.
Deceased in addition to her parents are, two sisters, Betty Zywiolek and Josephine Howes; and two brothers, John Janus and Edward Janus.
Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday July 12th, in the Behm Funeral Homes, 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, where a Blessing Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 13, 2017; followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Marcellus R. C. Church, 1340 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, PA 15344 with the Rev. Fr. J. Francis Frazer as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Jefferson Road, Waynesburg.
