William Ray "Bill" Hudson

William Ray “Bill” Hudson, 92, of Jasper, Alabama died on Friday, March 8, 2023, at UAB Highlands in Birmingham, Alabama. Visitation will be Monday, March 11 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at New Prospect Baptist Church. Rev. Blake Prater and Rev. Fred Karthaus will officiate the service.

Pallbearers will be Cade Grace, Dorman Grace, Judson Grace, Terrell Guthrie, Mark Hudson, Matt Hudson, Julia Lightsey, Julius Lightsey, Walker Lightsey, and Pat Morrison. Honorary Pallbearers will be Hansel Hudson, James Underwood, and the New Prospect Baptist Church Deacons.

He is survived by his wife, Mary June Thrasher Hudson; his daughters, Missie Lestelle Hudson, and Mimi Thomasa Hudson and many family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Thomas and Fannie Lee Smith Hudson, his father-in-law, Andrew Thomas Thrasher, and mother-in-law, Mary Estelle Thrasher.

He was part owner and operator of No. 5 Auto Parts and HH Enterprises for 46 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army, was a Gideon, and a member of the Freemasons.

Hudson was a lifelong member of New Prospect Baptist Church, the church his ancestors helped establish, where he served as Trustee, Deacon, and was a faithful Sunday School teacher until his death.
