Wayne Daulton Rice, 67, of Jasper, passed away Monday, May 23, 2016, at the VA Hospital of Birmingham. Visitation will be Thursday, May 26, 2016, from 12:30 until 2 p.m. at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 26, 2016, at 2 p.m. in the Kilgore-Green Chapel. Burial will be at New Hope Cemetery. Dewayne West will officiate. Wayne was a veteran of the United States Army. He loved to hunt and fish and loved Alabama football. He loved his New Vision Church family. Wayne was a proud Papa to his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Austin Rice; mother, Maggie Rice Short; and stepfather, Ivan Short. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sherry Myers Rice; daughter, Christy Rice Edwards (Charles); son, Terry Rice (Tonya); grandchildren, Cody Braddock, Makenna Braddock, Caden Braddock, Gracie Rice, Kayleigh Rice and Emma Kate Rice; and sister, Betty Ann Tolbert.
