Mrs. Virginia Smith Stafford

Virginia Smith Stafford 84 of Jasper, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2014 at Ridgeview Nursing Home in Jasper, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents Willie C. Smith and Stella Kennemer Smith; and her bother William G. Smith. She is survived by her husband of 56 years Cecil E. Stafford, one son C. Earl Stafford Jr. of Jasper, and his wife Myra Montgomery Stafford; one daughter Lori Stafford Thomas of Highlands Ranch, CO and her husband Jeff Thomas; three grandchildren, Trey Stafford, Audrey Beth Stafford and Spencer Stafford Thomas; one nephew Bill Smith of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and his wife Kathy Jacobson Smith, one niece Shannon Howe of Gibbon Minnesota, and her husband Brett Howe . . The family will receive friends Thursday, October 2, 2014 from 1pm-2pm at the Kilgore Green Funeral Home with the funeral to follow at 2pm in the chapel. George Barrera will officiate with burial in the Carbon Hill Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nicky Bass, Robert Cheatwood, Jerry Howell, Marvin Norris, Joe Staggs, and Jeff Williams, honorary pallbearers: Trey Stafford and Spencer Stafford Thomas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Woodland Trace Church of Christ, Walker Area Community Foundation or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
