Samuel Robert Sherer, 60, of Jasper died January 4, 2022, at Brookwood Walker Hospital after a brief illness. Sam was born August 3, 1961, to Joseph Robert and Terah Robinson Sherer. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarence and Edith Robinson and Bob and Bess Sherer. He is survived by his parents, Bob and Terah Sherer; sister, Mahalia "Halie" and his dog, Minnie.
Sam was a 1979 graduate of Walker High School. He studied to be an EMT, worked many years at Walker Baptist Hospital and in recent years he worked with the Sumiton Police Department.
Memorials could be made to an animal rescue of your choice.
A memorial service will be held for Sam at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home, Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. Dr. Lloyd Stilley and Police Chief, T.J. Burnett will officiate.
