Ronald was born in Jasper, Alabama. He is the son of Dorothy and Jim Turner. Ron built his life for his family. He began working as a mechanic in his father's garage when he was just a young boy. He learned to work hard and quickly grew to be the best mechanic in Walker County.
Ronald helped many people throughout his lifetime. His shop, Turner Automotive, was known around the community as the place to go to be treated fairly and with the job done right. Not only did Ronald have a successful business, but his shop allowed him to create lifelong friendships. It wasn't uncommon for you to see a circle of friends gathered there every morning.
Ronald went by many names in his lifetime - Ronnie, Ron, RT, Rat - but the ones he was most proud of were Daddy and PawPaw. Ronald always had a special place in his heart for his children and grandchildren. If he called you Skeeter, Scooter or Stinky, you knew you were one of his most loved. Ronald always spoke his mind and loved with all his heart.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Dorothy Turner.
He is survived by his sister, Phyllis Barker; his children, Ronala Turner, David Turner, Robert Turner, Melinda Winborne and Sarah Moon; beloved grandchildren, Matthew Graves, Kyle Graves, Seth Graves, William Turner, Jessica Turner, Andrew Turner, Beth Turner, Ashley Turner, Samantha Moon, Benjamin Moon and Ava Winborne; five great-grandchildren, Ayla, Hadley & Saoirse Graves, Jasmine & David Driver, Jr.; and his beloved chihuahua, Boo.
Ronald spent his life working really hard to make the most of this world. Though he had a hard life, if you asked him, we know he would say he rated it "PG." He would always tell us, "Make the most of your life. Go, do things, enjoy the good things when you can. And when you do, always play music."
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that you donate in Ronald's honor to the Greater Birmingham Humane Society, Jasper branch.
