Michael Scott Matkin of Jasper, Alabama passed away on December 14, 2023 after a short but valiant fight with stage 4 lung cancer.
Scott was predeceased by his parents, Neal Matkin and Ann Matkin Gibbs; his grandparents, Martin and Carlena "Tiny" Smith and Bill and Betty Matkin.
Scott leaves behind his sister, Dawn Matkin McDonnell, her son, Jeff Hill and Jeff's son, Elliott Riley-Hill, his girlfriend, Melinda Bour; stepbrother, Chris Gibbs (Angie); stepsister, Lori Gibbs Midkiff; brother, Mark Fanning (Jamie); a half sister; Patti Carter as well as several other loving family members and close friends who may as well be family.
A celebration of life will be held at 5pm on January 14, 2024, at the Deep in Huntsville, Alabama.
