Mrs. Mary Sue Barton

Mary Sue (Phillips) Barton, born April 16th, 1929, passed away on February 1st, at the age of 86, in her home. Visitation will be held at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home, Friday, February 5, 2016 at 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM with service following at 3:00 PM. Terry Townsend will be officiating. Born in Cordova, AL. She moved to IN. in 1955, with her husband, where she resided for 33 years. Upon returning to Alabama, in 1988, from Indiana, Mrs. Barton resided in Curry and was a member of Curry Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, of 60 years, Joseph David Barton, An infant son David Wayne, son Jimmy Neal and great grandson Shane Knut Haldorson. Her parents J D and Dovie Phillips and her 6 brothers, George Parnell, George Washington, Ruben Martis, J D Jr., Sol Gene and Walter Sydney and 2 Sisters Miley Elizabeth Phillips and Nina Lou Mauldin (Peggy) and 2 Daughter in Laws, Linda Lue Barton, Susan Lillian Barton. She is survived by her children Joseph Edward, Carolyn Yvonne. Sheila (Jimmy) Snow, Theresa (Perry) Romaker and Lacretia (Jeffry) Tucker. 17 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. Viewing will be on Friday, February 5th, at 2pm with services immediately following at Kilgore Green Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice Comfort Care Jasper, AL.
