Family will be receiving friends on Monday, February 10, 2020, from 2 until 3 p.m., at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Service will follow at 3 p.m., in the Kilgore-Green Chapel. Howard Thompson will officiate.
Joe was a loving father, grandfather and friend. He was a proud Navy veteran, retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad and an avid golfer, who played two to three times a week with his buddies at Horse Creek and often in Gulf Shores. Such an avid golfer that the Daily Mountain Eagle did a feature story on him for being the oldest golfer at the course. If you knew him, you know he fiercely loved Jo Ann, their babies, Alabama football, going to the casinos and golf. He will be missed by many.
He was preceded by his wife, Jo Ann Key Henderson, parents, R.C. and Clara Henderson; siblings, Jackie Marks, Jim Henderson, Gerald Henderson, Betty Humphreys, Ray Henderson and Ronnie Henderson; in-laws, Girles and Adell Key; and sister-in-law, Doris Phillips.
He is survived by his daughters, Debra Hadder (Lowell) of Jasper, Cathy Reid (Michael) of Ashville; grandchildren, Adam Hadder (Sheena) of Vestavia, Amanda Adcock (Jason) of Cullman, Heath Graham (Jessica) of Lacey Washington and Haley Sanford (Jerry) Springville and A.J. Bush (Megan) of Springville; great grandchildren, Carolina, Alyssa, Braylon, Marley, Skylar, Briley Ann, Addie Grace, Levi, Hayes and Logan; great great grandchild, Huck; sisters, Ann Jones and Peggy Duke and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude’s Hospital or Tunnel to Towers.
