Johnny Ruben Martin

Family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, from 12 until 2 p.m., at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m., in the Kilgore-Green Chapel, with burial at Oakhill Cemetery. Ryan Maimone will officiate.

Johnny was born on September 14, 1943, to Melvin and Juanita Martin. He was the second of three sons. After graduating from Oakman High School, he joined the U.S. Navy and then the U.S. Coast Guard. He served his country for 32 years. He loved watching Alabama football, the Atlanta Braves, raising horses and drinking coffee with friends. He will be missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Juanita Martin.

He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Patsy H. Martin; children, Tim Martin (Tara), Kimberly Cole (Jeremy) and Karen Montgomery (David); step-sons, Shannon Daniel (Candice) and Jeremy Daniel (Amber); grandchildren, Anna Grace Martin, Abby Martin, Ally Martin, Lauren Cole, Madison Cole, Kacey Jacobs (Shawn), Candice Bridgeman (Jeremy), Dylan Montgomery, Brian Montgomery, Brannon Daniel, Jesse Daniel and Grace Daniel; four great grandchildren; brothers, Gary Martin (James Ann) and Roy Martin (Alice) and host of nieces, nephews and friends.
