Jeffery Warren Mize

Family will receive friends on Monday, July 17, 2023, from 12 until 2 p.m. at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home with service at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Union Chapel Cemetery. Scott Pierce will officiate.

Jeff courageously battled Parkinson's Disease for several years. He was a much loved, fabulous husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Jeff was a lifelong fan of The Alabama Crimson Tide, a fabulous mechanic who rarely met an engine he could not repair. He loved outdoors and hunting, was a former member of the Jasper Sportsman Club. An Eagle Scout, he was active for many years with the Boy Scouts of America.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Louise Mize of Russellville, in laws Lynn and Wanda Sherer of Jasper, grandparents Buck and Hazel Scheile of Gorgas.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Buckie Mize, son David Mize (Amanda), grandchildren Lily Mize, Matthew Meadows, Dawson Meadows, Payton Getter, Davis Getter, Aure Getter, special cousins Charlotte Crandal Rushing, Shaun Rushing (Angie), Tyler Rushing, Kayla Rushing of Haleyville, sister- in-law and brother-in-law Leigh Ann and Russell Colvin of Jasper.
