Eunice Rutledge

A private family graveside will be held at Carbon Hill Memorial. Lynell Early will officiate. Kilgore-Green Funeral Home will be directing.

Eunice loved to play the piano and flower gardening. She was the 2nd woman underground coal miner in the state of Alabama with Jim Walter Mines where she retired.

She is preceded in death by her husband; Hugh S. Darty; daughter, Patti Ann Darty; parents, Andrew Cody Rutledge and Alma Rutledge; siblings, Howard Rutledge, A.C. Rutledge, Ellis Rutledge, Mable Kilgo, Hazel Hendon, Elizabeth Hinds, Frances “Dolly” Long, Ruth Sawyer and special friend, Earl “Junior” Johnson.

She is survived by her children, Hugh D. Darty (Donna), Gail Johnson (Tommy) and Earnley Darty (Brenda); grandchildren, Chris Darty (Leah), Amanda Darty (Trah), Karla Moore (Nathan), Logan Johnson, Cammey Darty (Charlie) and Cody Darty (Jonna); 15 great grandchildren; siblings, Shelby Heathcock, Alvie Cook, Johnnie A. Files and Jimmie Rutledge and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
