Family will be receiving friends for visitation, Monday, Jan. 29, 2018, at Jasper’s First Baptist Church at 10-11 a.m. Services will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Dr. Richard Trucks will officiate.
Miss Williams was a native of Jasper, Ala., where she attended Walker County High School and Judson College. She returned to Jasper and was the Home Economics teacher at Walker High School for over 35 years and was fondly remembered as “the lady who taught me how to sew and cook.” She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. Miss Williams was a member of First Baptist Church of Jasper, where she served as Sunday School Secretary and was active in Choir. She was our “favorite Aunt” and she treasured her family. We know the Lord has told her, “Well done my good and faithful servant.”
Miss Williams is preceded in death by her parents, David J. and Ernestine Williams; her brothers, Dr. David J. Williams, Jr. and Elbert T. Williams; her brother-in-law and sister, Reverend James and Mary Ernestine Williams Cantrell; her niece, Emily Cantrell Smith; and her nephew, David J. Williams III, nephew-in-law Daniel W. Smith Jr.
Miss Williams is survived by her sister-in-laws, Marilyn Williams of Jasper and Janelle Williams of Spanish Fort, Ala.; her nieces, Betty Jean “B.J.” Williams Smith of Hammond, La., Carol Williams of Birmingham, Ala., Mary Eleanor Cantrell Trucks (Richard) of Birmingham, Ala.; her nephews, James Cantrell (Linda) of Germantown, Tenn., David Cantrell (Renata) of Kingswood, Texas, Jon Cantrell (Carmell) of Birmingham, Ala., Jack Williams (Fran) of Spanish Fort, Ala., and Ken (Mindy) of Triangle, Va.; great nieces, Tanya M. Smith of Jasper, Leslie Decker of Silverhill, Ala., Mary Rebekah Trucks of Roanoke, Va., Laura Beth Trucks of Nashville, Tenn., Amalee Smith of Birmingham, Alison Williams of Jasper, Susan Wade (Michael) of Mount Juliet, Tenn., Marlena Cantrell of Birmingham, Allie Cantrell of Houston, Texas, Ariel Williams of Triangle, Va., Julianna Williams of Triangle, Va., Janae Williams of Triangle, Va., Marissa Williams of Triangle, Va.; great nephews, Daniel W.
