David William Hoobler, 68, of Jasper, passed away Monday, September 6, 2021, at Walker Baptist Medical Center. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date due to the highly contagious Covid-19 Delta variant.
David grew up in Jasper and graduated Walker High School, 1971. He loved his family immensely and dedicated the last 4 years to caring for his mother. As a retired coal miner, whenever there was a chance, he enjoyed hunting, fishing on Warrior River, a weekend of horseback riding at Faye Whittemore Farms, and Alabama Football. David never met a stranger. He loved all his friends and always had advice to give, a joke to tell, the correct way things should be done, and loved to give. A very special thank you from the family to Dr. Hall and his team of doctors, The ER, IMC, and especially the ICU II nurses.
He was preceded in death by his son, Chris Hoobler; father, Jesse Hoobler; and in-laws, Paul and Charlene Birmingham.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Nan Hoobler; mother, Billie Hoobler; children, Bryan Hoobler (Brandi), Steven Hoobler, Josh Lee Jr., Jonathan Lee (Daisy), Jarrod Lee (Michelle), Joshua Lee Sr., and Nanette Brook Lee; siblings; Jim Hoobler (Jan) and Sandra Williams (Ricky); grandchildren, Tyler Hoobler (Beth), Krissa Hoobler (John Busbee), Breanna Guthrie, Kaley Guthrie, Braxton Reed, Kadance Hoobler, Christian Whitlow (Olivia), Ashley Bullock (Bryan), Alena Beck, Anna Grace Lee, Eli Hawthorne, and Ashleigh Davenport (Mark), 8 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Buddy Birmingham (Shelly); sister-in-law, Lou Birmingham Higginbotham (Al); nieces and nephews, Tracy Williams Ellis (Andrew), Kevin Williams, Paula Birmingham, Curtis Birmingham, Richard Higginbotham (Donna) and Jasalynn Higginbotham Wingo (Troy); special nieces, Jimmie Ann Hoobler Helmbold (Alan) and Jessika Hoobler Ellison (Bradley) who were a constant in his life, and a host of other relatives and loved ones.
In lieu of flowers the family requests prayers for the tireless work of the nurses, doctors, and staff caring for our loved ones that would be alone without their love and dedication.
