Family will be receiving friends on Friday, August 30, 2019, from 5 until 8 p.m., at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Service will be held Saturday, August 31, 2019, at 11 a.m., in the Kilgore-Green Chapel, burial at Willis Chapel Cemetery. Kenneth Wiggins will officiate.
Lloyd was born on November 17, 1941, to Charlie and Elsie Johnston and grew up in the middle of the Wolf Creek Management Area on top of Frozen Hollow Hill. He was retired coal miner with Russell Coal Company, where he loved operating his bulldozer. His hobbies included; mowing grass, working in the garden, grilling, raising pigs and processing meat. “Mr. Lloyd” was well known for his famous sausage and will be greatly missed. He enjoyed meeting and talking to everyone that came by. He also loved his catfish pond where he had a cabin built so he could spend the night on the water.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Elsie Johnston; brother, Thomas Johnston; sister, Marie Cooner; grandparents, Andrew and Mary Johnston, and Ruffus and Ella Pendley; in-laws, Andrew and Geneva Pendley.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Stacy Mae Pendley Johnston; children, Lynn Johnston (Janet) and Darlene Borden (Jim); grandchildren, Teddy Johnston, Michael Johnston (Kelsey), Isaac Johnston, Kaela Borden and Brent Borden; sister, Murl Pendley (Doyle) and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
