Mrs. Kilgore was born to Nancy and Clanton Manasco on December 4, 1924, in Nauvoo, Ala. Until the time of her death, she was a faithful and active member of New Oak Grove Church. She was office administrator and bookkeeper for Winston Lumber Co. and TMA Wood Products in Double Springs until her retirement.
She had a life-long love for Southern gospel music. She loved to sing, with a beautiful alto voice. She enjoyed traveling when she had the opportunity. She loved sewing, needlework, and many other craft activities and enjoyed sharing her craftwork with friends and family. Most of all, she enjoyed family gatherings and time spent with her friends. She was a true example of all that a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend should be.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 70 years, Cecil W. Kilgore; son, Ricky D. Kilgore; sisters, Wanda Robertson and Hazel Montgomery; brothers, Jack Manasco and Roman Manasco; and son-in-law, Mabry Smith.
She is survived by her children, Johnny Kilgore (Pat) of Birmingham, Mike Kilgore (Linda) of Dadeville and Rebecca Kilgore Smith of Jasper; daughter-in-law, Pat Shubert Kilgore of Hartselle; grandchildren, Kelly Kilgore Treadwell (Tommy), Lee Beth Kilgore, Shane Kilgore, Jeremy Allen (Rebecca), Dr. John Mac Kilgore, Rylan Kilgore, Holly Kilgore Prince (Chris), Jenny Smith Scoates (Rob), and Katie Kilgore Connell (Patrick). She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren, Thomas, Samuel, and James Treadwell, Wilson Kilgore, Cayden, Sawyer, Graham, and Tatum Allen, and Delaney and Maverick Connell. She leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who loved "Aunt Beat" as much as she loved them.
Pallbearers will be Shane Kilgore, Jeremy Allen, John Mac Kilgore, Rylan Kilgore, Chris Prince, and Patrick Connell. Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Kilgore, Jerry Kilgore, Jimmy Montgomery, Tommy Treadwell, and Robert Scoates.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to Wendy, Jennifer and Stacy with Kindred Home Health, Pastor Chris, and to all who have prayed for her, brought her meals, and taken care of her cat. Thanks also to all the nurses and staff with Affinity Hospice and Princeton Medical Center who cared for her during the last week.
