Mrs. Barbara Jean Randolph

Family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Service will follow at 1 p.m., in the Kilgore-Green Chapel, with burial at Bennett Cemetery. Russ McDonald will officiate.

Jeanne was born to Ed and Ruth Connell at St. Mary’s Hospital, Gary, Indiana, on June 10, 1954. At the age 16, she married Randy at Harmony Baptist Church on July 3, 1970, and moved to Virginia where Randy was stationed in the Navy. During her lifetime she became a mother of two boys, Edmon and Chris. Jeanne went to Bevill Trade School and become a beautician, then after a few years, she went back to Bevill for training as a CNA and worked at the Jasper Hospital. Her biggest joy was raising her two boys and teaching her granddaughter cooking and craft making. Her talent as a seamstress was extraordinary as was her baking skills. Even when the arthritis started taking over her body, she still pushed on and became quite mobile in her scooter. Jeanne’s infectious laugh and smile will be greatly missed by all that knew her. We are deeply grateful to our caregivers, cousin, Shirley Chaney, Maranda Mason, granddaughter, Paeton Randolph and niece, Shana Turner.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Edmon Randolph and Chris Randolph; parents, Ed and Ruth Connell; step-mother, Hazel Connell; brothers, Gary Wayne Connell, Dale Connell and Ronnie Connell; sisters, Martha Connell and Brenda Connell.

She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Earl “Randy” Randolph; daughter-in-law, Christie Randolph, granddaughter, Paeton Randolph; sister, Jan Webb (Ronnie) and a niece that she claimed as her daughter, Shana Turner and a host of other relatives and many friends.
