He is survived by his wife Dr. Delight C.A. Thompson, his daughter Miss Dulcinea Thompson-Parker, his mother Mrs. Stephanie Parker McKean and her husband Reverend Alan McKean, his father Mr. Larry Gaines Parker, his mother-in-law Mrs. Christina Thompson, his siblings Attorney Cherish A. Thompson, Major Charleston G. Malkemus, Mrs. Lisa Gayle Kidd, Mr. Larry Greg Parker, and Mr. Larry Greggery Fosson, and many extended family and friends.
A gathering of family and friends will take place at Johnson Funeral Home of Jacksonville on Monday from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. A service celebrating Major Luke Parker’s life will be held at First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, 1985 Gum Branch Rd. on Tuesday, November 26th at 11:00 AM with Chaplain Bruce Allen Vaughan and Pastor Jason Brinker officiating. Burial will take place at Arlington National Cemetery on December 3rd at 9:00 AM.
