Larry Padgett

Larry Wayne Padgett, 60, of Bear Creek, NC was accepted into God’s loving arms on January 4, 2015. Larry was born on August 17,1954 in Jacksonville, NC. He was the son of Sadie Jenkins Padgett and the late Milton J. Padgett and step son of Betty Padgett and loving son in law to the late Roy and Hila Cannon.

In addition to his parents, Larry is survived by his best friend and wife of 40 years, Susan Miller Padgett, three children and their spouses; Christopher and Jamison Padgett of Greenville; Jamie and Bobby Winston of Swansboro; Nicholas and Alicia McCall of Wilmington. Five Grandchildren; Maya McCall; Devante and Cianna Winston; Taylor and Cannon Padgett; His father in law, Richard (Sam) Miller. Five brothers and sisters; Greg Padgett (Anne); Karen Foy (Late Vonnie); Suzy Long (Ray); Nancy Foster (Tag) and Steve Padgett (Glenda). Many nieces and nephews, “Honorary Bonus” children, and Aunts, Uncles, and cousins.

Larry was a dedicated, loving, and hardworking man who loved his family and friends deeply. He was a master carpenter for almost 45 years. His legacy will live on through his many works and his family. He was also a father figure, teacher, and mentor to many others through his work and volunteer coaching with Swansboro/Jacksonville soccer association.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm, Monday, January 12, 2015 at Crystal Coast Assembly of God, Hwy 58, Peletier, NC with Rev. H.C. Hardesty officiating.

The family will receive friends from noon to 1:00pm, one hour prior to the service, at the church.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to The Caring House, Inc. 2625 Pickett Road, Durham, NC 27705-5608 in loving memory of Larry would be greatly appreciated.
