He was a member of the Propeller Club and was on the Board for the Port of Wilmington Seaman’s Center. And also a member of the Seafarers Union.
A funeral service will be held Friday, March 4, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Infant of Prague Catholic Church with Reverend Jeffery Bowker officiating. Burial will follow at Onslow Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela Sheckels Sacco. Daughters, Danielle Johannes and Melanie Sheckels. Parents, Michael & Sophie Sacco. Brother, John Sacco and sisters, Valerie Moore, Angela Baker, and Ann Marie Frye.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 -9:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
