Anita Trott Brown, 85, of Richlands, passed into her Heavenly home on April 26, 2018. Anita was born on September 11, 1932, to parents Leroy and Sally Trott. She was united in marriage to Robert Earl Brown on October 6, 1951, and enjoyed 52 years together until he preceded her in death on September 7, 2003.
Anita Brown grew up in Richlands where she attended school and graduated from Richlands High School in 1950. After marrying Robert Earl Brown they raised five children while they both worked at the Richlands post office. Anita retired with thirty years of government service from the United States Postal Service on June 3, 1988.
Five of her greatest passions were God, her church, her family, cooking, and gardening. Her entire life was a living example of her faith. She attended Richlands First Christian Church her whole life where she was active in a variety ways throughout the years such as the choir, Etta Farrior circle, and condolence committee. She loved to garden and cook for her family, church, and friends. Her greatest pride and joy was her continually growing family. She was also a proud two-time cancer survivor and supporter of the American Cancer Society.
She is survived by her 5 children and spouses, Steve (Shirley) Brown of Shelby, NC; Mike Brown of Steadman, NC; Susan (Joe) Stroud of Jacksonville, NC; Angela (Tony) Bostic of Richlands, NC; and Ken (Beth) Brown of Richlands, NC. 8 grandchildren and their spouses, Scott Brown, Samantha (Adam) Queen, Jessica (Blake) Rogers, Jerica Brown D’Amico, Ashley (Jese) Brown, Daniel (Lara) Stroud, Laura Stroud, Kelsey (Cory) Simpkins, Taylor (Christa) Bostic, and Bailey Brown. 5 great-grandchildren, Caleb Brown, Raylan D’Amico, Bowen Rogers, Charley Stroud, Lacie Brown, and Mollie Brown. She is survived by one sister, Brenda Pike and her husband Lee.
Family visitation will be held Sunday, April 29, 2018, from 4-6 at Richlands First Christian Church with the funeral service following at 6. Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at Onslow Memorial Park at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Richlands First Christian Church, 124 Trott Road, Richlands, NC 28574.
