William Joseph Wilber Jr., 39, formerly of Sarasota, FL and resident of Jacksonville, FL for the last four and a half years, died September 19, 2010 at Baptist Heart Center in downtown Jacksonville. Billy, as he preferred to be called, was a drywall finisher for local companies in the area. He loved fishing and riding his motorcycle. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Almira Hughes Miller, his maternal grandfather, Homer Lewis Miller of Sidney, Ohio, and his paternal grandfather William Arthur Wilber of FL. He is survived by his son, Alexander Joseph Wilber of North Port, FL; parents, William and Becky Wilber of Jacksonville; sister, Lori Wilber Gulsby of Sarasota; paternal grandmother, Dorothy Dittmer Wilber of Jacksonville; uncles, Carl, John, and Jeff Wilber of Jacksonville; aunts, Becky Wilber of Jacksonville, Dianne Bollinger of Ohio, Grace Smith of Pennsylvania; nephews, Dustin, Tanner, and Clayton Troglen of Sarasota, his fiancé Christine Sportsman of Jacksonville and his former wife, Meredith Musgrave-Wilber of North Port; cousins, Carrie Wilber Simpson, Tracie Wilber Childers, Shawn and Travis Stauffer, Angie Wilber Bontrager, Toni Wilber Gill, Frank and Tim Chamberlin, Michael Wilber, Barbara Young Smith, and Valerie Young Falco.
Visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 pm with Funeral Service to follow at 3:00 pm on Saturday, September 25th in the Chapel of Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin with Rev. Wesley Slough as officiant.
