William D. Tillman

He joined the Marines after high school and served in the Korean conflict before being stationed in New York. He married Yvonne Bowden and they made their home in Jacksonville. Bill worked for many years for Bell South and then AT&T. An avid boater and fisherman, he also enjoyed building furniture.

Surviving are his loving wife of 58 years, Yvonne Bowden Tillman, two son, William DeWitt Tillman, Jr. (Janice), Paul Tillman (Traci), two grandchildren, Richard Tillman and Robert Tillman, three great-grandchildren, Danielle, Jacob and Taylor, two brothers, James Tillman Jr., and Donald Tillman and many dear friends.

A Celebration of Bill’s Life will take place Thursday, June 2 at 7:00 pm at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 4115 Hendricks Ave., Jacksonville, FL 32207.
