William Lee Shaw

“Bill” was born in Charleston, SC to parents Herbert and Dorothy Shaw. He graduated from Englewood High School in Jacksonville, FL in 1968. After high school, Bill joined the US Navy, proudly serving for six years. He received the National Defense service medal. In 1976 he married Shirley Ann Shaw.

Bill graduated with a BBA from Jones College in Jacksonville, FL and began his computer career with Prudential Insurance Company where he remained for 28 years.

An avid billiard player, Bill loved playing trivia. He played a wicked trumpet, winning awards while in high school. He and Shirley were avid travelers, with Alaska being their favorite destination. Bill was of the Baptist faith.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Dorothy Shaw; his grandparents Roy and Beulah Campbell; daughter in law Donna Shaw He is survived by his wife of 45 sweet years, Shirley, his sons William and Christopher Shaw and sisters Bonnie Maynard and Becky Safford and grandson Joseph Blair.

A visitation for William will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205, followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM.
