William Harold King went to be with our Heavenly Father on September 30, 2010. He was born on May 22, 1927, in High Point, NC. He retired from the United States Navy after serving 22 years of patriotic duty, which he was very proud of. He was a veteran on World War ll and the Korean Conflict. He was a devoted employee of the Jacksonville Shipyard for 23 years. Bill is preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife of 49 years, Lieselotte. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and “Peepaw.”
He entered the service at the age of 17 and proudly carried those memories with him until his final day. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and Boxing. He loved being with his kids and his grandkids and often took trips camping and fishing. He also enjoyed swapping stories with old and new friends. He would never hesitate to relive one of his past experiences with a vibrant conversation. Regardless of the person, Bill was equally honest and would not hesitate to express his opinion. He will truly be missed by all his friends and family and his devoted poodle Toby.
He is survived by a devoted family: Liese (Ed), Terri (Jerry), Susie, William H King ll (Michelle), Robert (Tracey).
Grandchildren: Christopher, Amanda, Anton, Ansley, Jerry, Halie, Heather, William H King lll, Brandon, Logan, Alex.
Great Grandchildren: Amaya, Ethin, Cameron, and Evin
