Bill was born in Orlando in 1941. He began his career working on his family’s farm. In his adult life, he was a bold entrepreneur and fulfilled many occupations including salesmen, insurance agent, bail bondsmen, general contractor, FBI clerk, and business owner. He started one of the first bail bonds businesses in Jacksonville as well as founded the Bill Dye Marina and Dyenamic Yachts, Inc. Bill attended Jacksonville University and earlier in life he was initiated into the Freemasonry. Bill had many passions including building motorcycles and boats including “the Misdemeanor”, making deals, collecting various items, telling stories, and enjoying life on the water.
Bill was survived by his children Mark Dye, Sheri Manley, Shaun Dye, Dy Ana Dye, and Dayna Dye, his brother Tom Dye, and many grandchildren and a great grandchild. He was predeceased by his mother Mary Frances Dye, his brother Jim Dye, and his son Patrick Dye.
A visitation for William will be held Friday, December 1, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Hardage - Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207. A funeral service will occur Friday, December 1, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207. A committal service will occur Friday, December 1, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207.
