William was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Mildred Dickey and Hilda Kmiec.
William is survived by his wife of 74 years, Edith Avant Anderson, daughter, Linda Jenkins; son, David Anderson (Lynn); son, Lamont Anderson (Peggy) and many grandchildren and great grandchildren and many more beloved family and friends. Bill was always the happiest around family and friends.
William served 22 years in the Navy, retired and then worked for Civil Service for 20 years. He was a proud Navy veteran of WW II, Korean War, and Vietnam.
He was a faithful longtime member of Murray Hill Baptist Church and along with his wife, Edith, worked with many different age groups and departments. He served as a Deacon for many years.
Funeral service will be a private family only graveside service on Tuesday, January 26th, 2021 due to the Covid virus. A celebration of life for Bill will be held at a later date when it is safer for everyone to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Murray Hill Baptist Church Building Fund, Jacksonville, Florida.
