Walter Archibald Williamson

Walter A. Williamson (W.A.) 88 passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014 with his family by his side. He was born in Moultrie, GA on October 18, 1925. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Rosa Jane Williamson, and one sister Johnnie Lee Garbett.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years Marguerite Murray Williamson; sister Lou Nette Everett of Thomasville, GA; children Melvin, Jane (Rick) Revis, Nancy (Mark) Tanner, Gerald, Darrell, Donald (Candy) Williamson, & Walter (Nancy) Williamson; grandchildren Heather (Dennis) Daniel, Blake (Emily) Williamson, Robbie Hogsten, Ashlea (Brian) Wehle, Kyle Tanner, Katlin Williamson, Travis Williamson, and Tyler Williamson; great granddaughters Elizabeth Hogsten, and Saylor Jane Daniel due April 15, 2014; and a host of nieces and nephews.

W.A.’s lifetime career was in the transport business and he was the owner/operator of Williamson Trucking.

He and Marguerite owned a mountain home in North Carolina and spent many summers there with family and friends.

He had an incredible sense of humor and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was a member of St. Nicholas Christian Church where he served as Deacon and Elder Emeritus.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, March 23, 2014 at 1:00P.M. at Hardage-Giddens Hendricks Chapel, with Dr. Robert Staninger officiating followed by interment at Greenlawn Cemetry.

In lieu of flowers a donation to St. Nicholas Christian Church.
