Walter was born August 7, 1934, Cuthbert Georgia to the late Willie Joe Wall Sr. ACMM (AP) USN ret and Eddie Mae Avera Wall. Walter joined the military in 1953 and was assigned to VC-5, the first Navy atomic bomb squadron. Walter enjoyed his military career and traveling the globe.
After retiring from the military Walter entered the corporate aviation industry where he continued his passion of flying, rebuilding, maintaining old aircraft and traveling the world.
Retiring again, Walter took up hobbies of wood working and growing hybrid daylilies. He was an avid golfer and traveler. Walter was an animal lover and would take in every stray he could find.
Walter was a man of faith and member of the First Baptist Church in Shellman, GA
Walter is survived by his second wife 27 years to Joanne Engram Wall; daughter, Nancy Wall Webster (Panama City Beach, FL); son, Walter Robert “Bob” Wall II (Charlotte, NC); stepson,Skip Bozeman (Dublin, GA); 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind his cherished siblings, Willie Joe Wall, Jr. Barbara Ann Buice and Eddie Avera Wall.
Walter’s light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed. A graveside service with occur on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, Florida
