Walter J. Baldwin, III, age 90, passed away in Jacksonville, FL on September 4, 2022. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on September 22, 1931 to Walter Baldwin, Jr. and Evelyn Baldwin. He served as a Sergeant in the United States Army for 4 years and during that time was stationed in Germany and saw action in Korea.
Walter worked in construction, worked for his parent’s cabinet company, worked for Jax Airport, and retired from NAS Jax. He loved the Florida Gators and also loved Jacksonville and supported any sports team that came to Jacksonville. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by son Walter W. Baldwin of Jacksonville, FL; son John Baldwin of Jacksonville, FL; and daughter-in-law Dianne Baldwin of Yulee, FL; also 2 grandchildren; 10 great-grand-children and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by parents Walter Baldwin, Jr. and Evelyn Baldwin; his wife and love of his life Lourice Powell Baldwin; granddaughter Lourice S. Baldwin; great-granddaughter Lourice D. Baldwin and grandson Michael Baldwin.
A visitation for Walter will be held Friday, September 16, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A funeral service will occur Saturday, September 17, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A graveside service will occur Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 11:30 AM at Evergreen Cemetery, 4535 N Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206.
Pallbearers will be Walter W Baldwin Jr., Ethan Baldwin, Kai Levin, Little Michael Baldwin, Kyle Edwards, and Larry Griffins.
