Virginia Dale Smith

Virginia Dale Smith, Ginger/Mom/Nanny, age 87, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away on the evening of Sunday, October 2, 2022 surrounded by love. She was born October 2, 1935, in Hernando County, FL., and was the daughter of the late William and Mary Parkin.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, James Smith; two daughters, Sherri Smith and Cindy Pyne; and one brother, Bill Parkin.

Virginia was a faithful woman who loved the Lord, her family, her church, and her community. She loved spending time with her family and could often be found with a baby on her lap.

Virginia is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Tom Smith and Tim Smith (Pam); four granddaughters and one grandson Malissia Pyne, Anna Mitchell (Ryan), Judy Pyne Padgett, Mary Ashley Pierson (Ben), and Patrick Smith; nine great-grandchildren Jacob Glass, Colton Glass (Nicole), Josiah Padgett, Eli Padgett, Micah Padgett, Delaney Mitchell, Sawyer Mitchell, Nora Pierson, and Baby Boy Pierson; and one great-great granddaughter, Amelia Glass. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

A memorial service for Virginia will be held Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Hardage - Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207. A graveside committal service will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery for Virginia and her predeceased husband, James. A reception will follow the graveside at the funeral home.
