

Virginia Ruth Bishop Pax, 93, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 25, 2013. She was born in Doe Run, Georgia to the late Pearlie Mae Moree Bishop and Edward Manon Bishop. Virginia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry Pax. She retired as a civilian employee for the US Army in Ft. Knox, Kentucky where she was a ground instructor for helicopter pilots. Virginia enjoyed a long and happy life with many accomplishments. She was a gifted artist and an accomplished seamstress. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. There was nothing she loved more than being surrounded by her family, cooking family meals, and tending to everyone’s wants and needs. Virginia was a strong, independent, gentle woman whose family meant everything to her. She will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her three sons, John Pax (wife Sondra) of Jacksonville, Florida, George Pax of Boise, Idaho, and David Pax (wife Kathy) of Fremont, California; five grandchildren, Benjamin Pax, Rachel Pax Mingea (husband Bert), Sierra Pax, Sean Pax, and Jesse Pax; and one great granddaughter, Autumn Pax.
A Visitation will be held on Monday, October 28, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin.
The Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at 11:00am in St. Joseph’s Historic Catholic Church, 4152 Loretto Road. Interment will follow the service at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
