Virgil Eugene Harper, 82, went home to be with our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ on May 14, 2018 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born on January 4, 1936 in Jesup, Georgia to Virgil Henry and Eva Mae Bradham Harper.
Gene was preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years, Dessie Mae Clark Harper; sons, Eddie, Mike and Tommy, daughter, Debbie Douglas and brother, Bobby Harper. He is survived by his sons, Ricky (Julie), Chris (Saidy); daughters, Tammy (George) West, and Tina (Eddie) Higginbotham and daughter-in-law, Debbie. He had 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. As well as, many wonderful nieces, nephews and friends.
Even though, we will miss him greatly here on earth, he longed for the day he would be reunited with his loved ones in Heaven. Now he is watching over us until we meet again.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 6 – 8 pm and Funeral Service, Friday, May 18, 2018 at 3 pm at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida.
