Vicki Ann Hammett, age 74, of Jacksonville entered into eternal rest Saturday, August 3, 2024, surrounded by loved ones at her residence. She is survived by her son Dayman (Linden) Hammett of Hahira, Georgia, and daughter Michele (Hunter) Dews of Cleveland, Georgia; her sisters, Deborah Stone of Jacksonville and Lynda Nebrich of Virginia Beach, Virginia, her brother, Peter (Jackie) Nebrich of Jacksonville; her grandchildren, Gabrielle, Joshua, and Olivia Hammett, and Mathiew Dews; and her great-granddaughter, Rosemary Ayala.
Vicki was the daughter of George and Gloria Nebrich. Born in Buffalo, New York, she spent most of her childhood in Miami. She retired from Stein Mart after a career of more than 20 years. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, where she proudly served on the Counting Team. She enjoyed spending time with her neighborhood family, her Bunco group, and her long-time friends, the Sensational Seven.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
