Tim provided incredible insight and support to our nation's defense.  His expertise and positive attitude helped so many of us throughout the years.  He will be truly missed. 

Donny, Me, Tim and Ryan in the hallway between class at DA in 1993. Tim was my first friend at Douglas Anderson and was a year older. He took me in and introduced me to everybody and we were instantly close. This pic is a favorite from those days. 

Tim was like family to us. He and met in 8th grade at Stanton and remained close friends for the 34 years since. I have countless memories of our antics growing up in the 90’s, and of even more antics as young adults. We worked together delivering pizza, and then he and Mike worked together at a restaurant. I was so sad when he decided to move away to go to school, but after a while we were able to visit him regularly. When we’d leave he always told us that “good times were had by all” and they were. We hadn’t seen each other in person for a few years, but we never went too long without a phone call. I am so proud of him. Tim was such a brilliant, funny, stubborn, kind, gentle person, who was easy to get along with and loved by all. Tim loved his career and life in Orlando but he also longed for the good old days. I wish he had kept in touch with all of his old friends. If any old friends are still reading this far, please know he thought of you often.

Tim was one of my very best friends throughout Highschool at Douglas Anderson and afterwards for a number of years. He, Alan Tanner and myself were fairly inseparable for that period and the friendship we all shared will remain a treasured one for me for as long as I live. Tim was among  the kindest, funniest and most reliable people I have ever known and although we would lose touch later, I always thought of him fondly and missed our younger days of friendship and good times. My deepest condolences go out to his family and friends. I’ll catch you again someday  in the Grey Havens buddy. I Love you brother.   Rest In Peace. 

Tim was bright and always up for an entertaining conversation. I'll miss talking about robots, bands, and fishing with him. I met Tim through the robotics lab at UCF. We bonded through shared musical tastes and experiences. Over the years we kept in touch, sometime more often and sometimes less frequently. I'm glad we got together recently, and sorry we won't in the near future as planned. I'll miss his quick smile and sense of humor. My condolences to his family and friends. 

Tim, I think you never knew the scope of the positive impact you had on me. You welcomed me and my friend Andrew and our gang from the autonomous underwater vehicle team into the robotics club to join you, Richard, Gary…. You were a leader and we all looked up to you.  You set the example among all us peers, you embraced the crazy in creativity and helped us all find paths to realize whatever we happened to be dreaming up. I always respected the way you interacted with everyone, the example you set, and the legacy you left behind at the robotics club. I wish I could have known you better and I will always cherish the memories of the time we spent together. Late nights in the lab, propellers whirring overhead, burnt MOSFETS, gears and hydraulics whirring. You were one of those individuals that positively impacted so many more than you ever could have known and like me, we all will never forget you. So sorry to hear the news of your passing. So happy to have met you. You will be missed.

Tim was a brilliant and kindhearted leader who achieved cross agency recognition for his work as an engineer and his involvement in the agency’s Health and Wellness committee. I would like to share with you some of these recognition notes … 

“Tim Roberts is a valued member of the NSSC Health and Wellness Committee, representing STTC in Orlando. Tim is a great team player, always willing to provide input and feedback during our meetings. He is quick to raise any issues or questions from his workforce members to the group, and presents them with tact and discretion. His concern for others and desire to help is very apparent and deserves recognition.

I am very sad to hear of Tim’s passing. Tim was one of the most down to earth people I know. He helped set me up on my journey in robotics, teaching me so much. I’ll never forget that he was the very first person to contact me during a very challenging time in my life, and he reassured me of who I was. I can only hope I was able to express to him how much I needed that call. I’ll always think fondly of our time in the robotics lab and then club together. My deepest sympathies for his family. Please know he left a strong impact on those fortunate enough to know him.
