Thomas F. Schad

Thomas served in the United States Air Force for four years. He was a devout parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church where he was active in the Men’s Group and served as an Usher. He also participated in the CHRP groups through St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a third degree Knight with The Knights of Columbus. Tom retired from the CSX Railroad after 43 years of service. He was very passionate when it came to his family and helping those less fortunate. He donated regularly to the Mandarin Food Bank and loved to volunteer at his daughter’s school where she teaches third grade.

Tom is survived by his wife, Karen; daughters, Kristin Spilling of Jacksonville, FL and Jeanne Becker of Voorhees, NJ; sons, Michael of Fountainville, PA and Thomas, Jr. of Pocono Lake, PA; seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sisters, Mary and Peggy and brother, James.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 30 in Holy Family Catholic Church 9800 Baymeadows Rd. Jacksonville, FL with Father George Maniangattu officiating. Inurnment to follow at 2 p.m. with military honors at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery 4214 Loretto Rd. Jacksonville, FL.

The family requests in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to Mandarin Food Bank or American Cancer Society .
