Thomas Wayne Johns

Mr. Johns was born November 29, 1939, in Pelham, Georgia, to Woodrow Johns and Idella Holland.

He graduated from Georgia Military Academy in College Park, Georgia. He enlisted in the United States Air Force serving eight years in communications. While stationed in Hawaii, he attended the University of Hawaii.

He enjoyed baseball, football and playing games with his family and friends. He enjoyed his family, neighbors and attending various activities. He was a member of Kernan Boulevard Baptist Church.

He is survived by his son Russell Johns, grandchildren Alex Ide, Valleri Ide, Daniel Johns, Leah Johns and son in-law, Gary Ide.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Johns and daughter Laura Ide.

Arrangements are with Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida where a service will be conducted on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 10:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM.

Interment will be in Jacksonville National Cemetery on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 9:00 AM.
