Thomas E. Horne Jr.

Thomas Edward Horne, Jr., 46, passed away on May 7, 2017. Tommy was born on April 12, 1971 in St. Luke’s Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida to Thomas E. Horne, Sr. and Marcia Horne. Tommy excelled in sports and school receiving the Mandarin Rotary Award, Outstanding Lineman Award, graduated in the National Honor Society and received a 4 year Academic Scholarship. Being employed at the time at Barnett Bank he graduated at UNF with an AA degree and returned to University of Florida for 2 years for his Bachelor degree. He married in 2001 and adopted his wife’s daughter then was blessed with 2 sons, Dylan and Trevor. Tommy lived for his children for the past 8 years as a single dad. He ended his career at Vericlaim as part of their family, he enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, biking, hunting. Tommy survived by his sons, Trevor and Dylan Horne; daughter, Destanie Ruiz; sister, Angie Horne Kimsey (Mike); nephews, Tyler Trimnal, Tristan Crissman, Michael Kimsey; niece, Mikayla Kimsey; and grandchild, Sage Ruiz. Visitation will be held from 6:00pm – 8:00pm on Monday, May 15, 2017 in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. Memorial contributions may be made to Trevor Horne and Dylan Horne’s trust fund.
