Tom was born April 26, 1940, in Duluth, Minnesota to Alvin and Ruth Holmes.
Tom moved his family to Jacksonville, Florida in 1974. He was an avid fan of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Florida Gators, and Nascar. He enjoyed relaxing on the lanai and family gatherings.
Tom is survived by his wife of 53 years, Vernette; his children Carrie (Brian) Jensen, DeeAnn (Richard) DuPont, Bret Holmes, and Cyndra (Trey) Kronjaeger; 13 grandchildren: Joshua, Chad, and Aaron Radcliffe; Kelsey, Corey, Chase, and Chandler Jensen; Kyle and Jessica (Olson) DuPont; Kara and Emily Holmes; and Sean and Meagan (Struve) Kronjaeger; 2 great-grandchildren: Mason DuPont and Oakley Jensen, and Emberlyn Olson (on the way); three siblings: Phyllis Sulkowski, Dick (Patti Jo) Holmes, and Joan (Bill) Abernethy; a large extended family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Radcliffe; his parents; three siblings: Kathie Appell, John Holmes, and Liz Haller and his brother-in-law, Dale Sulkowski.
