Thomas J. Arnold, Sr., age 91, passed away Saturday, August 25, 2012. Thomas was born April 18, 1921 in Dallas, Georgia to James and Dolly Arnold. He grew up in Barnesville, GA but because of his Navy career, Thomas lived in Jacksonville most of his life. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps (CC’s) before joining the Navy at the onset of WWII. Thomas did retire from the Navy as well the Federal Reserve Bank. He moved to Middleburg in 1991 and moved to the Penney Retirement Community in August of 2011. Thomas is survived by his wife, Rose Arnold, two sons, Thomas J. Arnold Jr. (Diane), Robert Arnold (Oksana), one sister, Jewel Garrett, Grandchildren, Jeremy Arnold, Amanda Arnold, Zachary Arnold, Josh Arnold, Elijah Arnold, Alleena Arnold, Lubava Olveda (Rene). Family will receive friends and family Friday, August 31, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 1, 2012 at 10:00 am in the chapel of Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home. Internment to follow services at Riverside Memorial Park.
