Theodora “Rhoda” Mantas Thliveros, 80, of Jacksonville, passed away on July 16, 2011 at her residence. She was born on November 4, 1930 in Jacksonville, FL to the late Peter A. and Fotini Mantas. She was a 1948 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School. Rhoda worked for the Atlantic Bank/First Union in Jacksonville for over 40 years. She was a lifelong member of St. John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church where she sang in the Choir many years. Rhoda was a loving wife, mother, sister and Yiayia. She was the heartbeat of her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Eleftherios “Ted” Thliveros, her son, Peter Thliveros (Valeria); her 2 grandchildren, Justin Matheny (Heidi) and Eleftherios Nicholas Thliveros; and her sister, Ceia Rogers (James). Rhoda was preceded in death by her parents, and her twin brother, Ikey Mantas. The Trisagion Service will be held at 6:30 pm on Monday, July 18, 2011 at St. John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church, 3850 Atlantic Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at St. John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church, with Rev. Dr. Nicholas Louh officiating as well as Rev. Dr. Milton Magos and Rev. Father Frank Kirlangitis, followed by interment in Evergreen Cemetery, 4535 Main St., Jacksonville, FL 32206. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Rhoda to St. John the Divine Orthodox Church, or to the Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32257.
