Terri was born in Jacksonville, FL on June 14, 1956 to Edna Lily Stephenson and Eddie Davis. Though not born to him, she also loved her Daddy, Roy Evans. Terri worked in retail management before retiring and poured herself into her work. She was an extremely intelligent woman who was feisty, fierce, and oh so funny. She was an incredibly talented writer and at one time, painter. She was very creative and had a knack for making something out of nothing. Terri had a compassionate heart towards both people and cats who were down on their luck, and found various ways to care for both over the years. She loved all kinds of music, and even used to sing in a band with her aunt and uncle in her younger years. She loved her family, loved to brag about her grandchildren, and had a strong faith in Jesus Christ. Terri knew the Bible forwards and backwards and could probably run circles around many theologians.
Terri was predeceased by her mother, Edna Lily Stephenson Matlock; her grandmother, Hannah Lou Stephenson; her grandfather, Kenneth Eugene Stephenson; both of her fathers; her beloved Aunt who was more like a sister to her, Rubye Jeanette “Jeanie” Moore; her uncle Kenneth “Buddy” Lanier Stephenson, and her cousin, Stacy James Evans. She was also predeceased by her husband Stephen, “Rocky” Garcia; her significant other, Mike Gaston; and her sweet cat, Roscoe.
She is survived by her son, Michael Cory Flowers; her daughter, Jill Lynn Flowers Ceragioli (Louis); and her five grandchildren, Michael and Joshua, and Sean, Elijah and Liana. She is also survived by her bonus daughter, Melissa Flowers Head, many beloved cousins, and a handful of sweet friends.
A Celebration of Terri’s life will be held on Saturday, April 29, at 3 pm at Maranatha Church of Jacksonville, at 7550 Collins Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32244.
