Teresa “Terry” George, 77, of Fleming Island, FL died on Monday, November 9th at the McGraw Hospice Center in Jacksonville, FL after a decade of battling Alzheimer’s. She was born in Medfield, MA to Melvin and Margaret Thibeau. Terry had 1 sister, Peggy, who predeceased her.
After growing up in Medfield, Terry worked in Boston as a costume designer for Wolff Fording. One of her proudest moments in her career, was preparing the costume for the Bozo The Clown Show. At night, Terry took some college courses at Harvard but never pursued a degree. After marrying her husband, Nickolas George Sr, in 1972, they bought their forever home on Fleming Island and she pursued a career in real estate with Watson Realty. Her hobbies included art, drawing, and taking care of animals. In fact, she loved animals so much, she later got a job at Willowdale Veterinary Center on Fleming Island and brought home many animals during this time. She also loved to cook and enjoyed nature.
Terry's husband, Nick, recently passed away in August. Terry was obviously lonely without him and went to be with Nick right before their next anniversary so they would never have to spend one apart. She is survived by her two children, Nickolas George Jr, (wife Valerie) of Jupiter, FL and Melissa Klipp (husband Kevin) of Jacksonville, FL who will miss her great energy, repetitive stories of how she can't swim, and her neverending support. Her grandchildren include Thomas, Brock, Adam, Joshua, Jacob, Allyssa, Alaina, Megan, Nakisha, and step-children Glenn, Michael, and Nicki. Her family would like to thank all the heroes at Wyndham Lakes, The Terrace of Jacksonville, and McGraw Hospice for keeping her safe and comfortable during her last days.
Arrangements by Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin, 11801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL (904) 288-0025.
