Tedrick D’ Anthony Guillory, age 26 entered his permanent Heavenly Home and into the loving arms of his Heavenly Father and his grandfather on Veteran’s Day-Saturday, November 11, 2023, in Jacksonville, Florida. Tedrick’s death was sudden, but God makes no mistakes, it is time for him to rest and be our protective Angel.
Tedrick was born on February 7, 1997, in Dallas, Texas to Terrence Guillory (adopted by his devoted Grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Else Guillory). Tedrick “Teddy” grew up as a Navy Brat in Jacksonville, Florida and was his grandfather’s shadow. He was a committed and faithful Catholic, with his home church being St. Matthew’s Catholic. Tedrick’s famous handsome smile radiated through our home parish and St. Matthew’s Catholic School, where he attended from Pre-School through his graduating 8th grade class. Tedrick enjoyed being an Altar Server, sports, and serving the Diocese in our community. Tedrick continued his commitment to our Catholic faith during his four energetic years at Bishop Snyder High School. Tedrick, affectionately known as “Teddy”, excelled in representing The Cardinal’s in varies sports, Football, Wrestling, Weightlifting, Track & Field, and his absolute favorite BASEBALL. Tedrick attended Lake Sumpter College and continued hitting home runs in the Florida sun. Any outdoor sports, art/music events, or activities on the water, Tedrick Guillory was attending. Tedrick was a mixture of a big kid at heart, and an old soul. Big brother to Lacie Patten, Tedrick took on essential roles of caretaker for his aging grandparents, and disabled “Daddy Terrence”, so Lacie could live her high school years to the fullest. Tedrick’s heart was filled up when his Princess Layla entered this world. Tedrick had his sassy shadow with him as much as possible. He focused on growing his small business “Big City Pressure Washing & Services”, with the mission to leave his baby with generational wealth. He just knew that he had so many more decades to develop and shine as a leader in the community. His 2024 goals included moving back to the Westside, having a big yard for his best friend “Calvin”, and his princess to play in, expanding his business and volunteering as a baseball coach. At the young age of 26, the way he charmed and emotional connected with our community has been evident in the overwhelming support to honor him, heal, and advocate for him. Tedrick was loyal/always advocated for the elderly, disabled, and children. He came from a community of service and served as much as possible. Tedrick enjoyed working with his hands, just like his grandfather, and would not stay still, just like his grandfather. Our universe has been unnecessarily robbed of Tedrick’s greatness.
Preceded in death, his distinguished Father/Grandfather, Mr. Else Guillory (Ret. Navy), a host of Aunts/Uncles (Louisiana/Texas). Surviving family, his Princess Layla (Rania), his cheerleader advocate-Rania Rafidi, Orange Park; Mrs. Irma Guillory (Mother/Grandmother)-Jacksonville, Terrence Guillory (Dad)-Jacksonville; La”Tanya” Guillory-Major (Auntie/Mommie/Godmother)-Jacksonville, Lacie Patten (Little Sister/Mentor)-Jacksonville; Aiden Woodard (Little Brother)-Orange Park; Sonja Guillory (Aunt)-Dallas; Darrin Guillory (Angie) (Uncle & Godfather/Aunt)-Tulsa, Doug Winston (Catherine)-(Uncle/Aunt)-Hampton & enormous list of lifetime family & friends (Louisiana/Texas/Florida). Even a small donation could help Latanya Guillory-Major reach their fundraising goal. And if you can't make a donation, it would be great if you could share the fundraiser to help spread the word.
