Steven Charles Shaw

Steven Charles Shaw, 48, beloved husband of Suzanne Dufek Shaw and father of Madison Lillian Shaw, Cassidy Alexis Shaw, and Benjamin Matthew Shaw, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 10th after battling tonsillar cancer for over 2 years. In addition to his wife and children, Steve is survived by his parents Ursula Snyder Shaw and Terrel Lamar Shaw, and his older brother Terrel Lamar Shaw II.

Steve was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. He attended grade school at Sacred Heart Catholic School, and attended Bishop Kenny High School. He then graduated from the University of North Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management. Steve started and operated his own very successful construction company, Shaw Contracting, Inc.

Steve had a passion for life including boating and offshore fishing, and was a long-time member of the Jacksonville Offshore Fishing Club. He also enjoyed building race cars and drag racing. Most of all, Steve loved spending time with his family.

On Friday, October 16th, Steve’s family will be hosting a celebration of his life at the Jacksonville Offshore Fishing Club Clubhouse at 4870 Ocean Street, Atlantic Beach, Florida 32233 from 6pm-8pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to “The Oral Cancer Foundation” or “HPV and Me.”
