Steven Kerry Rowland, 55, passed away over the weekend of June 12th 2021. Sadly but soon we will lay to rest our beloved Kerry. Son, brother, father, grandfather, grandson, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend.
Kerry was born on Aug 9, 1965 in Jax Fl, to mother Ginger Murphy and father Leroy Rowland Jr. (Buddy).
Predeceased by maternal and paternal grandparents and two uncles.
He is survived by his parents, brother Mark Rowland and twin sister Kim Solano, daughter Amanda Rowland and granddaughter Kerrisa. Also lovingly missed by his step grandmother, Gwen Ogden, step-dad Ed Murphy, step brothers Jason and Bryan Murphy, and the mother of his child Lisa Thompson. Kerry has numerous special aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews, dear cousins and many friends. All of them along with his parents will miss him always.
His main career was painter of houses and apts and installing and painting billboards. Kerry worked for many years in property maintenance with his brother Mark, who was his mentor and friend. He always said Mark knew how to do anything and taught him many things. He knew his brother had his back and would always be there for him. Missing him deeply is his twin sister Kim, his other half and his best friend. Growing up together as twins they shared so much.
They enjoyed listening to 80's music, cooking out, watching old funny sitcoms, doing yard projects and sharing their love of their animals and nature... he especially loved his cat Pepper and Kim’s dog Jazzy. He and Kim shared a lot of fun and secrets and much love and knew they always would be there for each other. He said the best things in his life were his daughter Amanda (his Mandy) and granddaughter Kerrisa. They were the lights in his life.
Kerry was the very best dad to her. Doing every kid thing possible... spending favorite times like camping at Hanna park, zoo, MOSH, Arts Market, beach, bike riding, attending every school function, graduations, and being by her side at the birth of Kerrisa. He was always bragging about his two beautiful girls. Kerry was a great cartoon sketch artist, painter of wall art and murals. Loved History channel and Animal Planet and cooking shows. His happiest times were spent with his family, sharing meals and holidays and many laughs. He never looked down on people, accepted them as they were and was very generous and kind. Helping in the food kitchen at S Army, buying a can of cat food for a stray cat, giving last dollar to an unfortunate person etc... Loved talking to the older generation especially his Granny. Always kind and courteous and caring to them.
From the time he was a little boy he always wanted to make people laugh. He was silly, funny, joking, and wanted to make people smile. He never lost that ability. Always had a big wave, a hug, and that super SMILE which we miss so much. One day we will see that gentle spirit again sweet Kerry. You left us a good legacy... to always smile even in the darkness.
