Steve lived in Saint Johns with his wife Mary Ann and loyal dog Jack. He was born in
Birmingham Alabama but lived in Arab Alabama most of his life until joining the Air Force in
1974. Upon completion of his service in 1978 he moved to Jacksonville.
Steve loved big rigs and trains and was able to do both as careers in his life. He worked as an
engineer with CSX and retired last year.
Steve loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and his dog. He loved all
football but especially Alabama “Roll Tide”. Steve had a love and passion for Prison Ministry and
volunteered through Christ’s Church Prison Ministry. He believed everyone deserved and
needed to know the Lord. He was so proud when he was awarded Prison Volunteer of the Year
from Christ’s Church.
Steve is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann and his daughters,Jessyka Kirby (Mitch) and
Marcy Dietrick (Josh), also his stepchildren, Jody Davidoff (Erick Sykes) and James Meggyes
(Dani). Steve has five grandchildren that he was so proud of- Kyle Meggyes, Jayden Dionne,
Olivia and Erica Sykes and Carson Dietrick. He is also survived by his brother Joseph Lochamy
(Tyra) and sister Karen Bates (Kenneth) and many other brothers and sisters in law, nieces,
nephews and cousins.
Steve touched many people in his life with kindness and his love of the Lord. He will be missed
by family and friends. Steve loved to travel and has reached his final destination ‘HEAVEN’.
